Hollmann

The Hollmann Lab investigates the molecular mechanisms by which RNA viruses interact with and hijack host RNA-binding proteins to promote viral replication. We aim to understand how viral RNA structures and protein interactions drive the formation of functional RNA–protein assemblies and whether unrelated viruses exploit common molecular strategies. By combining structural biology approaches, including NMR spectroscopy and cryo-electron microscopy, with biochemical and cellular assays, we seek to uncover fundamental principles of viral–host interactions and identify potential targets for antiviral intervention.
