Senior Research Associate, CCRC Dr. Prabhakar received his Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2003 from the Roland institute of pharmaceutical sciences (India) and his Master of Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) in 2006 from the Collage of pharmaceutical sciences (India), and his Ph.D. in Biosciences and bioengineering in 2014 from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB, India). Dr. Prabhakar did his 1st postdoctoral research in Dr. Moremen's lab at CCRC, UGA, in the structural and functional characterization of mammalian glycosyltransferases. In the 2nd postdoctoral work in Dr. Jarvis's Lab, Dr. Prabhakar worked on the glycoengineering of HIV-specific monoclonal antibodies with distinct N-glycosylation profiles using a glycoengineered insect cell culture-based expression platform. Currently, Dr. Prabhakar is a Senior Research Associate in Dr. Urbanowicz's Lab at CCRC, UGA, in biochemical and structural characterization of carbohydrate-active enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of plant cell wall matrix polysaccharides. I have just started as Co-PI on a fully funded DOE grant to characterize all the GTs from Spirodela polyrhiza GT-47. Dr. Prabhakar has over 13 full publications and one book chapter.
