Philip A. Schroeder Wins Sisodia-Patel Prize

The 2023 Sisodia-Patel Prize for Outstanding Research by an Undergraduate in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Graduation was awarded to Philip A. Schroeder, who also minored in Biology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Philip earned a 3.98 GPA. His research was conducted in the lab of Professor Lance Wells in BMB at the CCRC, and he presented his work at an international conference and will be first author on a publication describing his work. The award consists of a certificate and a $1000 cash prize funded through the generosity of Dr. Sangram S. Sisodia, who earned his Ph.D. degree in the department, and honors his mentor, Professor Emeritus Gordhan Patel. Dr. Sisodia is currently the Thomas A. Reynolds Sr. Family Professor of Neurobiology at the University of Chicago.
