Hiatt named 2018 Truman Scholar

University of Georgia junior Laurel Hiatt was named a 2018 Truman Scholar. One of 59 students in the nation given the honor, Hiatt will receive a $30,000 scholarship toward graduate school.

Hiatt is majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology and Spanish, and conducts research in the laboratory of Dr. Rich Steet at the Complex Carbohydrate Reaearch Center.
