My laboratory reported that bacterial pathogens, such as enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC), Salmonella typhimurium, Francisella tularensis, typical of the “super bugs”, exploit cell-to-cell signaling between the microbial flora and the host as a means to gage and recognize the host environment.
