High school student in BMB lab wins county science fair

A high school student working with the department of biochemistry and molecular biology has won her county's science fair.

Celina Zhao, a junior at North Oconee High School, placed first in the Oconee County Science Fair with her project, "Computational Analysis of Metabolic Reprogramming Across 14 Types of Cancer." Zhao worked on her project with Dr. Ying Xu and Ming-Xin Tao, a visiting graduate student from Jilin University in China.

Zhao will continue on to compete at the regional-level science fair competition.
