Winners named at Biochemistry Undergraduate Society Spring Symposium

The University of Georgia's Biochemistry Undergraduate Society held its Spring Symposium on April 20, 2018, allowing students to present a poster or deliver an oral presentation to professors, graduate students and peers.

In the poster competition, Sarah Choi placed first, and Weston McDonald took second place. The winner of the oral presentation portion was Hannah Kemelmakher.

Choi, a student in the chemistry department, adjunct biochemistry and molecular biology, was mentored by Rob Phillips of the chemistry department. McDonald, a student in the biochemistry and molecular biology department, was mentored by Zac Wood of the same department. Kemelmakher, a student in the large animal medicine department, was mentored by John Peroni of the same department.
